Report of Findings
Once the information is collected (from us and other doctors) and our examinations are performed, the Millar Chiropractic Doctor will give you a detailed report of all your findings and sit down and answer any questions you might have including:
- What is wrong with me? (In layman's terms so I can understand.)
- Can you help me? (Did I come to the right place.)
- How often do I need to come in and for how long?
- What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, your Millar Chiropractor will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Our Doctors will design a custom program that will provide in our opinion the best treatment and wellness program for your needs. Should you desire us to, we will gladly contact your primary care physician by letter or phone to make him or her aware of our exam, findings and treatment plan. We like to work with your physician creating a team approach to your health.
It is now that you and the Millar Chiropractic Doctor will decide what outcome goals are with in reach in what time frame. Since Pain is not a good indicator of progress we will look for some other outcome measure such as increased function, range of motion, muscle strength, decreased orthopedic or neurological findings, what ever the case both will have a clear understanding of our goal and timeline.
Treatment
At the conclusion of your report of findings, you can choose to experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, (manual and/or activator). manual therapy, physiotherapy modalities (e-stim, heat, ice ultra sound, diathermy, cold laser treatment and paraffin bath), DTS decompression traction and/or soft tissue massage. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime. We need your input as you live in your body for 24 hours a day and we only see you for a short time on each visit. We often ask patients to record a log of their pain and symptoms while they are under treatment. In most cases, prior to leaving the office, the doctor will suggest a home treatment program. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.
Wellness Program
If you desire, our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
